Pound for Pound Den Haag is an affiliation from Pound for Pound team, with headquarters in Munich, Germany - @poundforpoundmunich. Founded by Sergio "Canudo" Zimmermann, P4P counts with 30+ gyms in Europe, located in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Portugal, Bosnia, and now in The Netherlands.
Meet Our Instructors
Marcelo Azevedo
Founder and head coach of P4P Den Haag, he started BJJ in Alliance-Brazil and moved to the Netherlands after receiving his blue belt in 2016. Since then, he trained under Farid ben Omar, where he got his brown belt in June/24. Marcelo has studied adult education and is teaching BJJ for almost 4 years, he has previously taught other martial arts and chemical engineering. Marcelo won the 2024 Euros in the Master division (purple belt) and took silver as a brown belt in the 2025 Euros. Marcelo is under 6th degree Black Belt @canudobjj and therefore under grand master @carlsongracie.

Arthur Citadin
With more than a decade experience in teaching, Arthur owned an Alliance BJJ gym in Brazil for more than 5 years and joined Alliance team in Brazil because of his friendship with @casquinhajj. In alliance HQ Arthur became good friends and training partner of @scoobymarcus , @dimitriussouza and @tiagoalvesjj - three international champions that we hope to see very soon in our gym - training and delivering seminars.
Arthur is a multiple AJP and CBJJ open champion and will get his 2nd degree black belt by the end of 2024.

Maaria Haltsonen
Maaria is a Black Belt from Finland, co-founder of @flowcombat gym in Imatra (FIN). She has a MSc in nutrition and sports science and has been training BJJ since 2012. Maaria is also a BJJ Globetrotter instructor travelling all around Europe for camps and seminars.

Elias Melquiades
Elias is a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, whose journey began in 2012 training under Rodrigo Ribeiro at G13BJJ São Paulo, Brazil. A strong passion for instruction developed early in his career, leading him to co-found G13BJJ São Miguel and take on teaching roles in São Paulo. In recent years, he has contributed his expertise as a BJJ coach in the Armed Forces in the United Arab Emirates. Now in The Hague, Elias is excited to be part of Pound for Pound Den Haag, dedicated to helping students unlock the full range of benefits that Jiu-Jitsu provides.

Luca Pettinau
Luca trained judo since he was 6 years old and been training in high level for the last 15 years as a black belt. He paused his Judo carreer in 2022 and in 2023 decided to start Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Multiple time champion in nationals ( Italy, Finland, etc.), Luca trains BJJ with us and teaches the Judo classes for BJJ at P4P.

Huzeyfe Bulut
Huzeyfe is a blue belt and started his BJJ journey in 2023. He is starting now to assist coaches Arthur and Hazel in the kids classes and therefore starting his BJJ coaching journey. A talented blue belt , Huzeyfe competes both small and big competitions such as IBJJF Euros, as a big BJJ enthusiast, fighting sports are rooted in his family.
